Boy Scouts Install President, Officers
Allen Smith of Westlake Village has been named president of the Ventura County Council of Boy Scouts of America. Smith, president of ISX Corp., also in Westlake Village, replaces two-term president Sue Chadwick, who will remain on the board of directors.
Attorney Bill Fairfield became chairman, replacing Dist. Atty. Michael Bradbury, who will also remain on the board of directors.
Honored at the 77th annual council dinner with the Silver Beaver award, the highest honor given to an adult volunteer, were Barry Dydyk of Thousand Oaks, Mike Ewens of Ventura, Lee Hess of Thousand Oaks, Mike Kearney of Simi Valley, Chris Reams of Oak View and Bradbury.
Other officers installed include Jim Inman of Oxnard, council commissioner, and Kevin Jillson of Camarillo, treasurer and vice president of finance. Newly elected vice presidents, who will also serve as members of the executive committee, include Kevin Bernzott of Camarillo, John Grace of Westlake Village, Richard LeKander of Camarillo and Greg Metzgus of Newbury Park.
In all, 38 people were installed as members of the board of directors.
