Name Game
The local digerati are playing the name game again.
First, there was the Los Angeles New Media Roundtable, the industry networking group best known by its quasi-acronym LAwNMoweR. Then Mayor Richard Riordan started a round table of his own. His group, convened to burnish the city’s image as a leader in entertainment technology, inherited the lengthy Los Angeles New Media Roundtable appellation from LAwNMoweR.
The first act of the mayor’s round table was to christen Los Angeles the Digital Coast. Now the group has renamed itself the Digital Coast Roundtable.
“We do our best not to confuse people,” said Jon Goodman, executive director of EC2, the Annenberg Incubator Project at USC, and a Digital Coast Roundtable member.
