City Officials to Host Child Safety Training
Fire and police officials in Oxnard will host an event to teach children how to safely ride a bicycle, prevent fires or take a stroll on the streets.
The “Kids Summer Safety Training” event, designed for children ages 3 to 13, is scheduled for June 27 from noon to 4 p.m.
Children ages 7 to 13 will be able to test their bike-riding skills by pedaling through an obstacle course. The event, to be held at the Centerpoint Mall’s east parking lot, will also feature a “Kids Safety House”--a display house with tours every hour to show children the dangers of fire and ways to escape a smoke-filled room.
All participants will be entered into a drawing to win a bicycle.
