Grocers in Denmark and electronics stores in Bulgaria are reaping the benefits of the World Cup.
Friday, when Denmark played its opening match against Saudi Arabia, sales of sausage, potato chips, soft drinks and beer increased by 25% to 30%. Meanwhile in Bulgaria, according to a salesman, “In the last two or three weeks, people are buying TV sets like bread during a crisis.”
