Event Rewards Middle and High School Grads

Save Our Youth and the Shalimar Teen Center, organizations that emphasize academics and recreation for young people at risk of involvement in gangs, drugs and other pitfalls of poverty, recently honored several middle and high school graduates.

The fifth annual Save Our Youth awards dinner granted scholarships to teens who graduated from high school and completed middle school by attending the program, doing well in school and staying out of trouble.

Twenty-seven youngsters were honored during the program for their volunteer work, good grades and other academic achievements.
