Pierce Offers Summer Dance, Sports Classes

Pierce College Extension is offering a variety of summer courses through its Office of Community Services.

Classes include baseball, swimming and dance.

The Brahma baseball camp, for players 8 to 16, will teach the basics of pitching, catching, fielding and base running, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the weeks of June 26, July 6 and July 20. The registration fee is $104.

Swimming classes are offered through the South West Aquatic Masters swim team, an amateur swimming club for those 19 and older which meets Monday to Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. Dues are $45 per month.

Also offered are dance classes for couples, teaching the waltz, rumba and East Coast swing, on Monday evenings June 29 through July 27.

East Coast swing dance classes run from 7 to 8 p.m.; waltz and rumba classes are held from 8 to 9 p.m. Registration is $31.
