Two Garden Tours Planned

Two self-guided garden tours, one at the beach and one inland, are planned for next Sunday.

A tour of six Manhattan Beach gardens, including two artist’s gardens, plus the Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tickets are available on the day of the tour at the botanical garden, in Polliwog Park on Peck Avenue just north of Manhattan Beach Boulevard in Manhattan Beach. Phone (310) 379-4447 for more information.

Tickets (with maps) can be purchased in advance at Peter’s Garden Center or Bob’s Nursery in Manhattan Beach and at International Garden Center in El Segundo. Tickets cost $12.

A tour of six private koi pond gardens in Redlands and Riverside, sponsored by the Inland Koi Society, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets and guide books are available in advance by calling (909) 792-3603 or (909) 781-3887.

They may also be purchased at any of the gardens on the day of the tour. The Redlands gardens are at 25 and 225 Summit Ave. and at 925 La Flora Drive. The Riverside gardens are at 2147 Flintridge Court, 259 Cottonwood Ave. and 19219 Hillward Court. Tickets cost $5.
