Share

The citywide committee that oversees cable franchise agreements and public access television issues is looking for six volunteers.

The Citizen’s Advisory Cable TV Issues Committee, formed in 1992, has six openings for citizen activists. The 11-member group meets once a month and is open to anyone with an interest in public-access television issues.

The committee will make several important decisions in upcoming months, including how to allocate funds for upgrading public-access television equipment.

“We’re there to stick up for the community and get what we deserve from the cable companies--adequate public-access facilities and equipment,” said current committee member Tina Carlson. “We’re there to fix things.”

The application deadline has been extended to July 6. Call 449-2112 for more information.
