Juanita Morales Garcia; Santa Paula Homemaker

Juanita Morales Garcia, a 44-year Santa Paula resident, died Thursday after a brief illness. She was 82.

Garcia was born March 8, 1916, in Vinton, Texas. She moved to Ventura County from La Union, N.M., in 1954. She was a lifelong homemaker.

Garcia was a longtime member of Latin American Assembly of God in Santa Paula. She enjoyed spending time with her close friend Esther Garcia, her family said.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Lorenzo Morales and the Rev. Raul M. Garcia.

Garcia is survived by her husband, Augustine Morales of Santa Paula; three sons, Joe Morales of Santa Paula, Ciriaco Garcia of El Paso, and Rev. Gilbert Garcia of Tucson; two daughters, Jennie Martinez and Petra Quintero, both of Santa Paula; four sisters, Josefa Saenz and Emilia Sepulveda, both of La Union, N.M., Rosalia Olivas of El Paso, and Beatrice Puzo of Milbrae in San Mateo County; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her son Gilbert and Rev. Raymond Ontiveros will officiate at services at 6 p.m. Sunday at Latin American Assembly of God in Santa Paula. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Santa Paula Cemetery.
