Equipment Failure Knocks Out Power for 800 Homes
NORTHRIDGE —
An equipment failure left more than 800 homes without power for three hours early Monday morning, but the problem was repaired shortly after sunrise, a city spokeswoman said.
The power was off from about 3 to 6:10 a.m., affecting homes between Plummer and Nordhoff streets in Northridge, said Karen Shepard-Grimes, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
Power officials suspect that the outage was caused by an underground switch malfunction, Shepard-Grimes said.
