Median Sale Price Rises for Conejo Valley Homes

There were 190 single-family homes sold in the Conejo Valley in January, compared with 310 in December and 181 a year earlier, according to the Conejo Valley Assn. of Realtors.

The median sale price for single-family homes sold in January was $273,270, up from the January 1997 figure of $248,332. The median price is the point at which half the homes sold for more and half for less.

The median price breakdown in January was $177,500 for 21 homes with up to two bedrooms, $228,120 for 57 three-bedroom homes and $322,860 for 112 homes with four or more bedrooms. Last year, the figures were $135,000 for 11 two-bedroom homes, $207,608 for 61 three-bedroom homes and $315,714 for 109 houses with four or more bedrooms.

There were 70 condominiums sold in the Conejo Valley in January, compared with 90 in December and 53 a year earlier.

The total for all real estate transactions in January amounted to $74.5 million. A year earlier, the total was $62.4 million.
