Film Productions in Ventura County

This article contained some statistical data on film productions and the “value of filming” in various counties in Southern California. It stated that no such figures were available for Ventura County because its film commission has yet to receive official state sanction.

Although there are no figures on the value of filming in Ventura County, the county’s planning division, which issues film permits, does maintain precise statistics on filming in the unincorporated areas of the county, where the majority of filming occurs.

In 1997 there were 304 film productions involving 508 filming days. This was an impressive 34% gain over 1995.
