Baby Sitter Guilty of Manslaughter

A baby sitter pleaded guilty to manslaughter for leaving a toddler to die in a hot van while she played video poker. Terri Lynn Revere, 44, could be imprisoned for up to 40 years at her sentencing in May. Two-year-old Jared Sternbergh was sick with a virus on April 11 when Revere drove to Bridge City, a New Orleans suburb, and left him strapped in the van while she gambled for four hours. Jared’s parents said they checked Revere’s references thoroughly before hiring her.
