From Times Wire Reports

The husband of former Prime Minister Tansu Ciller was indicted on charges of illegally accumulating wealth. The indictment came as a member of the ruling Motherland Party--the rival of Ciller’s True Path Party--prepared to push for a new commission to investigate allegations that the former premier failed to declare certain assets to authorities. Prosecutors demanded up to five years in prison for Ozer Ciller on charges that he violated bribery and corruption laws. The indictment said Ozer Ciller accumulated up to $400,000 in unaccountable wealth. He has denied any wrongdoing. A hearing is set for March 27.
