Orange’s Problem Is Gang of Four

Share

Larry Pore, president of the city of Orange Police Management Assn., it appears, is out of touch with the residents of the city he claims to serve (Letters, March 15).

He misreads the support for fired Police Chief John Robertson as lack of support of the Police Department. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Pore, however, is about to break his arm patting himself and the Police Department on the back. The citizens of Orange have no argument with the department; our problem is the city manager and the inseparably conjoined City Council triad, the “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” trio.

Robertson, as an efficient manager, did not make himself look good; he made the department he managed look good. If Pore does not agree that management is of the utmost importance, ask him why executives of successful companies are so well paid. Management is the backbone of all organizations.

Many residents of Orange believe the city has been dealt a disservice by city management. City management is where change must begin, now. The only way things in Orange can get any worse is if they stay the same.
