Summer Recreation Jobs Offered for Teens

Teenagers wanting to work this summer can apply for part-time recreation positions with the city.

Positions, which start June 15, include swim instructors, pool lifeguards and assistants for children’s activities such as arts and crafts, games, sports and camping. Students also can apply for leadership positions in which they would organize activities and supervise their peers.

The summer jobs are open to high school-age students 15 and older. (Students must be 15 by June 1.) Hours vary from 20 to 40 a week, and hourly pay ranges from $5.15 to $8.10. Work sites are city playgrounds, parks, recreation centers and day camps. The deadline to apply is April 3.
