Apple Computer Inc. shares rose 7% amid speculation that the board will pressure interim Chief Executive Steve Jobs today to either stay on permanently as CEO or leave to make room for a new leader, analysts and investors said. Jobs has waffled about whether he would remain, making it more difficult to find interested candidates for the CEO post, analysts said. Any resolution will help boost confidence, they added. Cupertino-based Apple's shares rose $1.88 to close at $28 in Nasdaq trading.
