Suspicious Jug Found Near White House
Several blocks of downtown Washington near the White House were blocked off after authorities discovered a suspicious clear plastic jug filled with an unidentified liquid on the sidewalk near a pay telephone less than a block from the executive mansion. The jug had a white cap and a sticker and appeared to be marked with red writing. Police said the writing indicated that the jug contained some type of chemical warfare agent. Members of several law enforcement agencies assisted hazardous materials units at the scene.
