Russell Williams; Leader in Hospital Administration

Russell B. Williams, 72, former leader in hospital administration. Williams, who retired as a vice president in 1991 after 25 years with Kaiser Permanente, had served as board chairman of both the Healthcare Assn. of Southern California and of the California Healthcare Assn. Williams earned his bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and master’s from the University of Minnesota, where he later was elected president of the alumni association. He did postgraduate study at Harvard. Prior to joining Kaiser, Williams held administrative posts at UCLA Medical Center, South Bay Hospital in Redondo Beach and Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. He earned the award of merit from the California Assn. of Hospital and Health Systems and the health care industry’s Good Scout Award. On March 5 in Westlake Village.
