Saddleback’s Ely Finishes in Third

Saddleback’s Jason Ely took third place with 324.30 points in the men’s diving pentathlon Saturday at Saddleback.

Cuesta’s Daniel Hirst took first with 387.40, leading his team to a first-place finish with 677.70. The competition consisted of five dives from the one-meter board and five dives from the three-meter board.

Marc Johnson finished 12th for the Gauchos with 205.35.

In the women’s competition, Cuesta won the team title with 533.05 points. Cypress’ Amy Bogdanoff placed third with 222.85 points and Saddleback’s Naya Ciarlo was fourth with 195.60. Cuesta’s Stephanie Wurst and Lisa Haywood took first (285.35) and second (247.70).
