Asthma Camp Helps Children Cope

Although the purpose is to control asthma, the Southern California Asthma Medical Program Camp is still fun for children. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the camp, held by the American Lung Assn. of Orange County.

The camp teaches children to deal with asthma while they participate in activities such as swimming, wall-climbing, hiking, archery and campfire gatherings.

The camp will run June 28 through July 3 near Julian in San Diego County, and is open to children ages 8 to 14 with moderate to severe asthma. Cost is $210 per child, but a limited number of scholarships are available.
