Mayor Fry Is on Mend After Heart Surgery
Mayor Frank Fry Jr. is recuperating from quadruple bypass heart surgery performed April 24 at UCI Medical Center, city officials said.
Doctors are pleased with Fry’s progress and said he will continue to lead an active life, city spokeswoman Sondra Evans said.
Fry, 71, will be released from the hospital this week and should return to City Hall in a few weeks, Evans said.
In Fry’s absence, Mayor Pro Tem Joy L. Neugebauer will assume Fry’s responsibilities.
