Sen. O’Connell Receives Visionary Award

State Sen. Jack O’Connell (D--Carpinteria) has received the inaugural California Healthcare Institute Visionary Award. The institute, a nonprofit public policy organization for the state’s biomedical industry, honored O’Connell for spearheading legislation that has “helped streamline construction of advanced biomedical research facilities.”

CLU’s 1997 Literary Magazine Honored

Cal Lutheran University’s 1997 issue of its literary magazine, Morning Glory, received an All American Award by the Associated Collegiate Press. The group praised the magazine as “an excellent collection of writing and artwork, skillfully and tastefully displayed.” “Morning Glory” was founded in 1970. It was inducted into the All American Hall of Fame in 1990 after winning 10 consecutive Associated Collegiate Press awards.

Association Presents Environmental Awards

The Ventura County Economic Development Assn. presented its annual environmental awards during the recent Business Outlook Conference.
