Hoping to make city parks more accessible to people with disabilities, the City Council has awarded an $89,708 contract for park improvements.

United Builders of Irvine will start construction at five parks this month, with improvements ranging from more parking for the disabled to new curb access ramps.

The parks affected are Dana Woods, Pines, Heritage, Harry Otsubo Community Gardens and the Chloe Luke Overlook recreation area.
