Moot Court Title Earned by Resident
Resident Gregory Coolidge has won the second place oralist title in the Southwestern University School of Law Intramural Moot Court Competition, from a field of more than 280 law students.
State supreme court justices from five states presided over the mock hearings April 4.
Justice Joseph Baca of the New Mexico Supreme Court told Coolidge: “I am very impressed with your knowledge of the cases, your grasp of the issues and your presentation. You’re right up there with some of the best advocates in our state.”
The hypothetical case involved a wrongful death suit brought by a husband against his wife, whose negligence caused the death of their viable fetus.
