Palmisano’s Team Loses in Cup Final

Teresa Palmisano, a 1987 graduate of Buena High, returned to the United States last week after playing for Aix En Provence, a women’s professional basketball team in France that lost to Hungary in the championship game of the European Cup tournament April 1.

Palmisano, a 6-foot-2 forward, had 19 points and seven rebounds in the game, the final round of a seven-round annual playoff competition for top-level European teams.

After graduating from Buena, Palmisano, 29, played four years at California, where she was a two-time All-American.

Since then, Palmisano has played professionally with teams in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Greece, before hooking up with Aix En Provence in November.
