Eight teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of burglarizing a Port Hueneme condominium, and stealing jewelry and several loaded firearms, police said Wednesday.

The teens were arrested about 1 p.m. Tuesday after they allegedly broke into Sean Salinas’ condominium on Outlook Cove, said Lt. Fernando Estrella of the Port Hueneme Police Department.

Michael Soto and Rudy Ramos, both 19 and of Oxnard, remained jailed Wednesday along with Freddie Avalos and Max Vildasola, both 18 and also of Oxnard, Estrella said.

Two other Oxnard boys, 16 and 17, and a Port Hueneme girl, 17, remained in Ventura County Juvenile Hall Wednesday, Estrella said. A 13-year-old Oxnard boy was also cited and released to the custody of his parents, Estrella said.

On Monday, police went to Salinas’ home after he reported that someone had broken into his enclosed garage and stolen a set of keys that he keeps inside his vehicle. A day later, the jewelry and several handguns, rifles and shotguns were reported missing, Estrella said.

A relative of Salinas who lives nearby spotted the suspects loading the stolen items into a van, Estrella said. Police located the van, the suspects and the stolen items at a condominium complex next to Salinas’ residence.
