Scholarships Offered for Kids’ Asthma Camp
The American Lung Assn. of Orange County is offering several scholarships for its weeklong asthma camp for children, planned for June 28 to July 3 in the mountains of Julian near San Diego.
The Southern California Asthma Medical Program Camp is open to children ages 8 to 14 who have moderate to severe asthma. About 100 spaces are available.
Scholarships are awarded to children whose families meet certain income requirements. Otherwise, the cost is $210 for each child.
About 50,000 children in Orange County have asthma, according to the American Lung Assn.
At the camp, children are supervised by a staff of trained counselors and a medical team available for emergency and routine treatments around the clock.
