Foundation Creating Board of Directors
The newly formed Costa Mesa Community Foundation, which will raise money for city projects, is creating a board of directors.
Nine members, including one City Council member, will guide policies that help the foundation solicit, collect and distribute tax-exempt money from businesses and residents to activities that benefit the city.
The council approved the foundation, largely to give city benefactors tax deductions in exchange for their contributions.
The City Council is looking for residents interested in serving one-, two- and three-year terms on the foundation board.
Applicants should submit a letter explaining their interests to Mayor Peter Buffa, City Hall, P.O. Box 1200, Costa Mesa, CA 92628-1200. Information: (714) 754-5330.
