Reagan Building

Share

I fail to understand the complaints of conservatives that an overpriced governmental building is an inappropriate tribute to Ronald Reagan (May 6). It seems to me that a building which ultimately cost twice its projected estimate is a perfect legacy for a man who tripled the national debt in only eight years. A man who claimed to be an enemy of big government, yet spent tax dollars he did not have on something. If he wasn’t paying for domestic government agencies, what was it for then?

Illegal support of foreign armies, perhaps. Reagan’s philosophy of spend now, someone else will have to pay for it later, is perfectly reflected in an oversized, unneeded, overbudget building.
