Lewinsky, Mom Hire Media Consultant
Judy Smith, a seasoned media relations professional with a legal background and extensive political experience, has been hired by Monica S. Lewinsky and her mother, Marcia Lewis, said William S. Ginsburg, Lewinsky’s lawyer. Smith, who heads her own public relations firm, served as deputy White House press secretary to President George Bush during the last two years of his term and before that was deputy director of public relations and associate counsel to Iran-Contra independent prosecutor Lawrence E. Walsh. Lewinsky and her mother have been the focus of intense public scrutiny since allegations surfaced in January that Lewinsky, a former White House intern, carried on an 18-month affair with President Clinton.
