Reagan Library Gets Signed Print to Honor Israel
In honor of Israel’s 50th anniversary and in recognition of President Ronald Reagan’s efforts to bring peace to the region, representatives from the American Jewish community presented the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library a color print signed by Israeli and U.S. leaders.
During a short ceremony Tuesday, library director Mark Hunt received the print of a painting that in 1987 commemorated Israeli statesman David Ben-Gurion’s 100th birthday.
Ben-Gurion helped to found the nation of Israel and was its first prime minister.
The print was signed by Presidents Reagan, George Bush and Jimmy Carter as well as by U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts and Israeli Prime Ministers Shimon Peres, Benjamin Netanyahu and Yitzhak Rabin.
The print is on display at the library, which highlights Reagan’s life and eight-year presidency in a sprawling museum and interpretive center at 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley.
