Israeli Raids in Lebanon Kill 10

BAR ELIAS, Lebanon — Raids by Israeli planes on eastern Lebanon early Wednesday killed 10 members of a radical Palestinian group and wounded 22, the organization said.
An official in the group, Fatah Uprising, in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, said the victims had been in its administrative and medical facilities.
The area around Wednesday’s attack was sealed off by Lebanese security forces.
In a statement, the Israeli military said that its jets attacked “terror targets” in the Bekaa Valley and that all pilots returned safely to base.
It was unclear what prompted the raids, which came after two Israeli soldiers were wounded this week by Hezbollah guerrillas.
Israeli troops and their local militia allies, the South Lebanon Army, control a 9-mile-deep swath of land in southern Lebanon.
