2,000 Confessions Reported in Genocide
From Times Wire Reports
Attempting to avoid being executed, about 2,000 prisoners have confessed to taking part in the Hutu-orchestrated slaughter of more than 800,000 people, the Justice Ministry said. Under the law, defendants who confess are eligible for reduced sentences.
