Honors Await Dozens of Saddleback Grads

Among the 859 Saddleback College graduates at Friday’s 29th commencement ceremonies will be 10 students whose perfect grade-point average has earned them valedictorian honors.

Others include 73 students with high honors of 3.75 to 3.99 GPAs, and 88 students with honors for GPAs of 3.5 to 3.75.

The new graduates bring the total number of degrees awarded since the school opened in 1970 to 19,340.

Professor William Cunerty, also a golf coach and former football coach, will deliver the commencement address.

Sophomore Jason Edington, a math major who lives in Laguna Niguel, will be the student speaker.

Students with perfect scores are: Ginette P. Atwood, Mayy F. Chahla, Wilhelmina Tisha Lala Espinosa, Erik William Haven, Shawn Marie Hennes-Lam, Hishani Perera, Carol M. Roth, Sheila M. Youngberg, Benjamin Yu and Dale K. Roberts.
