Small Brush Fire Quickly Extinguished

Share

A brush fire burned about a quarter of an acre on a Camarillo hillside Monday before being quickly snuffed out by county firefighters.

The fire was reported about 11 a.m. and burned grass and debris in a barranca behind a home on Ocean View Drive in the Camarillo Heights area, fire officials said.

Firefighters finished mopping up the scene shortly after noon.

Fire officials said small spot fires such as Monday’s are not a problem because vegetation remains wet from this year’s record rainfall. The cause of the fire was undetermined. No injuries were reported and no homes were threatened.
