Las Lomas Elementary School recently received the city’s Community Spotlight Award for undergoing a massive face-lift.

City officials said the school, built in 1955, was deteriorating and in need of repair and expansion to better serve its growing student population. The La Habra City School District recently completed such improvements, adding a kindergarten clock tower, extra classrooms and a state-of-the-art computer lab. Crews also rehabilitated deteriorating campus areas.

City officials said the school has become an “extremely attractive facility” that brings them pride.

“Thank you for contributing to the citywide beautification efforts the city is striving for,” Councilman Juan M. Garcia told the district’s officials.
