Ice Dogs Lose, Are Down 3-0

Chicago scored three second-period goals and the Wolves went on to beat the Long Beach Ice Dogs 4-3 Wednesday night at Long Beach to take a 3-0 lead in the International Hockey League’s Western Conference finals.

Trailing 3-0 after two periods, the Ice Dogs got a goal from Patrik Augusta. Andrei Vasilyev failed to score on a penalty shot at 13:54 of the third, but he did score at 9:31 when his shot trickled into the net to pull the Ice Dogs within 3-2.

Mark Ferner, who had a goal waved off in the first period, tied the game 3-3 at 11:08 of the third.

Jamie Baker scored the go-ahead goal for Chicago.

Game 4 is Friday night at Long Beach.
