Woman Suspected of Arson at Her Home
A Ventura woman was arrested on suspicion of arson early Saturday after allegedly burning a toolshed following an argument with her husband, police said.
Greg and Donna McCombs were drinking at their McFarlane Street home about 2 a.m. when they started arguing, police said. After the husband left the house, Donna McCombs set fire to some of her husband’s belongings, according to police, then started a small fire in the kitchen. The kitchen fire flamed out.
Donna McCombs then lighted the toolshed on fire, police said. About half the building burned before firefighters put it out, police said.
Donna McCombs, 43, was arrested on suspicion of arson and on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, police said. She was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail. No injuries were reported.
