Daniel J. Carobine has been named a partner in the Ventura law firm of Engle & Bride. A trial attorney, Carobine specializes in civil litigation, including personal injury, medical malpractice defense and business law.

He has been practicing law since 1979.

* Deborah Lee-Eddie has been named senior vice president and Valley service area manager for Kaiser Permanente. She will focus on services delivered at the Woodland Hills and Panorama City medical centers and Kaiser medical offices in Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Antelope and Santa Clarita.

Lee-Eddie was chief administrative officer and senior vice president of Jackson Children’s Hospital in Miami.

* Santa Barbara Bank & Trust has appointed Shirley Hotz as assistant vice president and residential real estate loan officer for the Ventura area. She will work out of the bank’s Camarillo office.

Before joining the bank, Hotz was a real estate loan officer for Creative Home Loans in Ventura.

* Santa Barbara Bank & Trust has appointed Rudy Gutierrez assistant vice president and residential real estate loan officer for the Ventura, Santa Paula and Fillmore areas. He will work out of the bank’s County Center office in Ventura.

Gutierrez has more than 26 years of banking experience.
