Ray Auerbach, director of the Irvine Ranch Water District, has resigned to accept a job as district manager of the Paradise Irrigation District in Northern California.

Auerbach’s resignation is effective June 2.

“We’ve joked that he’s leaving the ranch for Paradise,” Board of Directors President Darryl Miller said. “This move is an excellent opportunity for Ray, but it will be difficult for IRWD to find someone with his expertise and dedication to fill this vacancy. He will be missed.”

Auerbach has been an IRWD board member since November 1979 and has worked in the water industry as general manager of the Capistrano Valley Water District and recently as a water resources consultant.
