* Zions Bancorp said it will rename its 70 California branches Bank of California, replacing the names of the banks it has agreed to buy: Sumitomo Bank of California, Grossmont Bank and First Pacific National Bank. Salt Lake City-based Zions has $10.9 billion in assets; its California banks have $6 billion. Zions, which becomes the fifth-largest bank in California, said it has plans for further expansion.
