A Little Steel

Share

Accentuating your home with a little metal and chrome can cost more than a few nickels.

But now any room can shine for as little as $7, with metal accents from Target.

For those who prefer the sleek lines of modern contemporary style, the chrome- and brushed-metal knobs and pulls (two for $7) are ideal. Combined with resin accessories (two for $7), the look is spirited and fresh.

The brass vanity mirror (about $20) and a free-standing fingertip towel bar (about $15) offer classic styling.

Traditionalists might enjoy the two-drawer desk storage box, made of pine and galvanized metal (about $30).

A Warming Trend

If the cold shock of porcelain is too jolting in the morning, Toto’s Warmlet toilet seat will take away the chill.

The seat’s temperature is controlled by the user and can be moderated between 82 and 100 degrees. It is easy to install with only two bolts, and it fits most standard elongated toilet bowls.

The only requirement is access to a 120-volt outlet. The seat (about $200) also has a quick-release construction system, which allows it to be removed for easy cleaning.

Beverage Caddies

As a matter of course, golfers can get mighty thirsty.

Now duffers can carry a favorite refreshment along with their clubs with California Innovations’ golf-pack cooler, a thermal pack that easily attaches to golf bags and carts.

Available in two sizes (five-can cooler about $15; 12-can pack about $30), the cooler keeps beverages on ice for hours through a high-density foam insulation system.

The coolers have an outside zippered compartment for tees, keys and the like. The compartment on the larger pack can also hold a cellular phone or eyeglasses.
