Re “Vote to Set Stage for New Millennium,” Nov. 1.

This article you stated that Tuesday’s upcoming election would be the last major election of the 20th century. Wrong! The next major election is in the year 2000, which is the last year of the 20th century.

Since the first year of our calendar is year 1, we did not have a year 0. Counting up by 100 years per century gives the end of the first century in the year 100, etc.
