“One of my husband’s best friends really likes Cabernet, so when he came over we opened a bottle of the 1982 artist’s series Cabs from Kenwood. It was a gift from my very first vineyard manager, and we’d saved it for a long time. It was really wonderful, still very lean though it had a lot of fruit. It was pretty lively; it hadn’t dried out yet.”
