Spotlight: A Place to Skateboard the Night Away

Ushering in an era of competition in Orange County’s entertainment-based shopping centers, The Block opens today in the city of Orange. A product of Mills Corp., which developed the larger but less splashy Ontario Mills center, the 811,000-square-foot center features the nation’s largest skateboard park, the state’s largest surf shop and Orange County’s biggest movie house, with 30 screens. The $165-million project will also feature a sprawling nightclub and dueling entertainment centers.
