Rebel Leader Says No to Congo Cease-Fire

Rebels in Congo said they are skeptical of a cease-fire worked out in their absence at the Franco-African summit in Paris and vowed they would fight on. Western diplomats said there are serious doubts about the prospects for a cease-fire in the 4-month-old Congo conflict. Rebel leader Ernest Wamba dia Wamba said his forces would fight on since their front-line military positions were under constant threat of attack.
