Test Score Gap

In “Black-White Test Score Gap Is Not Inevitable” (Commentary, Sept. 26), the authors referred to blacks as “African Americans” and whites as “European Americans.” This balkanization of our country must stop. If we are ever to live together as one people, as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed, we must come together as Americans. The continuing trend of separation by ethnic and racial lines will only exacerbate tensions between us. Together we can solve our problems. Let’s stop highlighting what makes us different, work together, and create the America that we all know is possible if we just put in the effort.
