From Times Wire Reports

At least 11 Palestinians and 13 Israeli soldiers and border police were wounded in a grenade attack and shooting in the West Bank city of Hebron. The Israeli army said the violence began when a Palestinian threw two hand grenades at a patrol in the Israeli-controlled heart of the volatile city close to a Jewish settler enclave. Palestinian residents said settlers and troops then opened fire. A settler spokesman said only soldiers were on the streets because of Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish year. An army statement said troops shot and wounded the attacker as he fled into Palestinian-controlled territory.
