Lectures on Decor

The Decorative Arts Society’s lecture series, which costs $150, will be held at the Newport Edwards Stadium Theatre, 300 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach. and benefit Directions for Women, which provides addiction treatment for women.

The lineup is:

* Tuesday. Peter Lang, vice president of Sotheby’s New York’s English Furniture department, will speak on English furniture design from George I to George IV.

* Dec. 8. Interior, fabric and wallpaper designer Nina Campbell will speak on “The Decorative Life.”

* Feb. 9. Interior decorator and antiquarian Thomas M. Beeton will talk about British influence on American style.

* March 9. Irish art historian Desmond FitzGerald will talk about Palladianism in Ireland.

* April 20. Author and architectural and social historian Ann Gore will speak about English women gardeners.
